We had a good week, not as productive as some, but we’re steadily getting things made. Anja and Loren are pretty tired from the summer workload and not able to do as much. We’re doing a lot of planning for this next winter, too, which doesn’t produce pictures. 🙂
This coming week, there’s no Metal Night and Sewing is only from 3-7pm on Thursday. Herb Bunch is meeting at 11am on Saturday and then our regular Project Day will be next Sunday.
Here is the direct Portfolio link which has all the past Project Day reports and all the various projects, original here: https://housecapuchin2.wordpress.com/portfolio/ and new one here: https://housecapuchin2.wordpress.com/portfolio/
Early Week – Loren was cutting the tags for the washing balls during Monday afternoon, while Anja was sewing some of the pouches cut from scraps on Sunday.
Late in the afternoon Loren got the sander working….sortof…. Anja had been working with a file trying to get the non-period finish off the box. The sander worked really fast!
…and we did a set of pictures of the drawers full of House Capuchin property.
Metal Night “was another productive night. I completed my gorget all the way to just needing some foam padding on the inside. Then it will be completed. I was wearing that at work, and my boss thought that it was really somethng else. We also discussed how to begin developing a a pattern for a helmet. Sam did some more work on his gorget. He just needs to attatch it to the leather, and it will be almost complete.” Marcus, Pater Familias
…and Anja spent time on Thursday and Saturday “standing on her head in fabric boxes” finding more scraps and bits.
Project Day started with cutting wooden animals. Loren took some fabrics (including our 12th Night fur) up to the house to get cleaned. We eventually sat down (Anja with pouches) and started talking “the event”, sharing info on how to put a budget together and what info needs to be found, yet. Loren got back right about then. We ended up talking food with Bera, all kinds of ideas on spices and recipes and such.
We had our feast and stuffed ourselves, even though it was snacks rather than a full-on meal. 🙂 Afterwards Bera and Rowan headed back to the Valley, Loren fell asleep and then worked on tagging washing balls, Anja threaded pouches and Marcus made pins.
Pins and other things.
Our Snack Feast was Beef/Barley soup, black, green and blue cheese stuffed olives, muenster cheese, hummus, rosemary crackers, pita crackers, breton crackers, prosciutto, pork pate and asparagus/onion/garlic pickles. …and not a single picture! We put together a care package for a doctoral candidate friend who has outworn her funding.
